Synopsis
A beautifully kooky offering from the director of Girl Sparks (LIFF2008), this off beat Japanese gem is full to bursting with oddball humour and surreal moments. Norio, a 17 year old country boy, decides to follow his late parents’ example and commit suicide. After failing even at that, his English teacher Akemi convinces him that he should move to Tokyo with her and become a lawyer. Norio starts falling in love with Akemi, so he pretends he’s studying when he’s actually hanging out with a little lad who thinks Norio is a famous baseball hero...?! Lots and lots of funny confusion ensues!
